Any divers headed out to garden/carnac in the next few days? I lost my rod and reel over the side this morning between the islands in 8m and would love to get it back!

Sounds like there is a fair bit of gear on the bottom in that area .... and that would be including my mobile phone. A mate dropped it while trying to take a photo...I dived in after it but couldn't catch it

Hot bite session with
Hot bite session with mullaway and sharks. Just cast a fresh bait out and my other rod went off so I put the Stella on the deck with the tip hanging over and proceeded to try and land the other fish. Whilst I was fighting that fish the Stella got a massive hit and I forgot to back off the drag. It took of like a rocket in between my mates legs never to be seen again.

yeah the combo is about $1500
yeah the combo is about $1500 to replace hence the desire to get it back.
I was so shitty I started to pack up my gear to come in and another rod almost fell out the stainless rod holder set up.
just one of those days I guess.

Once I get my boat back from Epic marine I might head out there and have a suss around !!
In those depths you can look around and free dive just about all day and cover quite a bit of ground if the vis picks up a little.....who knows what you will find !!
