Divers, nothing has changed.

Just had a look at the latest guide for the forthcoming rock lobster season.
I can't recall if this is the same wording that was used in the previous guide, however the booklet indicates that it was by not highlighting it with a red marker.

Extract from rec rock lobster fishing guide 2017/18

You must check each rock lobster as you
catch it to determine if it is totally protected
(see page 10). If totally protected, you must
release it carefully and immediately, before
another rock lobster is captured.

Sorry guys you are going to have to keep one eye out looking over your shoulder and one eye on what attributes the cray you have just looked has.

What a crock.

Pot

Just drop them in a pot (one of your own) before you come up.

Then you can pull it and legally check them on the boat.

Might be a painfull but legal way around the rules?

Yeah looks like catch bags will be left at home and plastic/collapsible pots will be kept on board to drop down when diving this season
