Hey guys,
Headin to Dongara this long weekend. I know this has been asked on another recent thread, but wheres good. Ive heard 7 mile and 9 mile are good for mullys this time o year. Whats the beach like(access, good gutters or holes?). Have got 5 ruggys in tow(not all mine) so beach options prefered.

The marina is not a bad option Matstx
The beach options will really depend on the wind and the weed. S-bend, which is just up the road from Dongara, is a great spot. But you will need to be mindful of the swell.

Col hit the nail on the
Col hit the nail on the head, wind and weed for that area.
also generally some pretty soft sand around.
as a general rule for that area find a gutter and you should find some fish, look out for heaps of undersize mullys at the mo

Don't do too much beach fishing, but saw a guy reel in a Horse of a Mulloway just North of the Caravan Park (Nth side of the Irwin River) not long ago. Caught it early morning.

Empty esky
Cheers blokes. Got back yesterday with not much in the esky. Was too hung over to fish the mornings but managed a couple o sunset sessions. Saw 5 outstanding mulloway landed with many reported catch n releases off the end of the marina wall. Had 1 hookup, which I managed to f*#k up resulting in a lost PB fish. Damn this fishin caper can be frustrating. Oh well, the scenery was nice.
cheers

Next time Mat I always think of a first trip to a new location
as a bit of reconoitering. Next time you will land that PB.

I knew that fish wasn't yours!
Was that photo you sent me from off the breakwall. It looked like a good fish. You will get your PB when we go to Yalata, only 8mths to go.
