Dont turn your back on the kids!

Or they will out fish you!
Young bloke was extremely happy with himself to land his first squid. I was looking at something out the back of the boat and hear a small splash, similar to the sound of him casting. Turned around to see him lifting a squid over the side!
He was very happy with himself and everyone within half a mile of us knew how proud I was of him!
At 2.5, he cant properly form a sentence but can say "I caught squid by myself"
He ended up with a pair and I got nothing....
This is why I fish for the future and pick up rubbish when I go to the beach.

Cant say I've ever had a
Cant say I've ever had a problem with it. with 3m of 6mm chain on it, I don't think I have ever dragged when I have anchored properly.
When in rock, I just change over to a reefy.

Danforths? Shit?
Excellent sand or mud anchor. Bad at fouling in reef unless you get the sliding shank model, use them as intended. If you can't get them to hold, you are not undertanding that they need enough chain to keep tthe shank flat to the bottom as they are setting. I had an old one like that I used on my previous boat, always got ot back. Then, one day at Ningaloo in a strong tide and big swell, it chafed above the chain. Gutted.
Anyway, as to the OT, excellent. Did he spray the whole boat with ink as he held it up?

Awesome!
I love how in true kids style it’s wind the jig right up to the top eyelet. (I got 2 kids myself). Hence why my kids get the older Kmart rods and I keep the jigging rods and top end rods well away. I think I’m 3x rod tips down thanks to indoor casting sessions from my young blokes. Hahaha

Cheers for the positive
Cheers for the positive comments folks.
If anyone has young kids, Kmart have a small Jarvis walker rod and reel combo's for $10. They are around 2ft long.
I pull the reel off them and put them on a 5ft rod to keep the sharp stuff away from the hands.
The reels are easy to operate for kids.

Love it
Plus the parallax make the jig as big as the youngster.
I have a photo of my son (now 25) with his first fish (a whiting) about the same age.
Disaster struck 5 min later when he burnt his hand on a gas lantern -ouch!!
Needless to say the other half was very pissed at the fishermen, but all good in the end and a memory both good and bad never to be forgotten.
