Drift Anchor

Hi guys,

Looking at grabbing another drift anchor 'for fishing only'. Price is not an issue, as i'm more interested in quality. It will be going on a Boston Whaler 255 conquest, so a reasonably heavy boat about 8.20 meters all inclusive.

I currently have a paratech sea brakes (for 33ft boats) http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/para%20BB4.htm that I am extremely happy with. However, I will keep this on another boat. Hence why I need another one. I tried to get another of the same type, but it appears they don't ship to Australia anymore. So my fall back position is currently the para drift anchor http://109.203.107.60/~paraanau/ . Thoughts would be appreciated by people with similar sized boats, or if there is anything better out there.

I had a look at Bias Boating, Yacht Grot, BCF and Whitworths and wasn't happy with the quality against my existing one.

And just to clarify, this is only for drift fishing. It will not be used for rescue/storm anchoring (i have a seperate one already for this)... so please don't incorporate this in the discussion.

Cheers

John

I have 3 different sizes and if we need it we go up in drift anchor rather than sinker. I run mine straight off the bow and at least on inbetween the first and second wave. Most run their drift anchor off the corner and to short so they end up running a massive unit because the anchor is drifting at the same rate as the boat.
