Dunsborough's MasterBaiter

It's been a long time between sessions on the briney for us lads down here for various reasons & I finally secured a leave pass from house construction by boss woman aided by my ol' man who came down & sorted some stuff for me (might as well have been decked out in UN peackeeping attire, the bloke is a legend!)

Seaquest made a dash to the big smoke & was back down with his pride & joy in tow after a long absence from each other, tears were shed, sweet brief love was made & Amber was not happy!

After weeks of planning due to two other trips getting the can our 3rd Musketeer got done over again & was OOA, subsequently an unhappy crew member allegedly handed in a 'Man Card Revocation' notice for a certain young bloke at Outdoor Sportz who is now known as 'Girly Sue'

I stuck with Jigs & Placcies on Saturday, this stubborn approach cost me & I have concluded you boys can stick those skirt assists square up the pooper valve all I caught was shit fish I am going back to my normal assists!

The sounder was looking good & Seaquest made the move to bait & did very well getting some good tags in but it was a hard day for our usual good dhu bangers! Frustrating but that's fishing, be good to get out again at the end of the week weather permitting to hit up the same marks (now the curse has been laid!)

A standout was this AJ, biggest I have seen this way & was called for a shark most of the way. Slayed on an Ocea Jigger 1500, yep you have to give it to the man!

One of Seaquest's Dhuies that was dispatched on ice for a feed Bring on next week

Hi Liam

Sun, 2012-08-26 19:33

Was wondering how you boys went on Saturday after speaking to Dunsborough Dave on Fri night. As usual, some more cracker fish. For the record and for the rest of the FW community, Amber is a dog. I am sure she had a feast in the backyard.

See you both soon.

Dave

G'day Dave, hope the house build is coming along to take a few days out down here?

I am stoked with the 2nd AJ pick personally, my camera skills are questionable at best so very happy! Solid fish by Doaks & it lit up well on the deck

Sounds like the Beer ad Lamby - "It's ok, he speaks Woman!"

Did you get a weight for the AJ - one cool fish & agree with POTM for the 2nd shot - beautiful work.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Hahaha Jody I seem to remember you hoisting a rather large one up, horse whisperer??

No weight on the AJ Perry, should of grabbed a measurement if I didn't lose the mat over the side with some wind!

I will chuck the pic up as a single for potm entry, cheers all

Just interested as its a damn solid fish- in awesome condition as well. How'd the fight compare with a sambo or yellowtail king? I've heard some guys rate these harder than both generally speaking - that one would've gone  like stink!

Thought it was a shark at first cause it took off for the horizon. Would rate the fight better than a sambo but not as good as a big YTK. They take the cake by a long way.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Lovely fish Seaquest, good to see you supporting the boat yet again. Bit like pavlich you are, must be getting sore shoulders carrying the load every time you head out. If you ever want to replace that bloke you fish with just give us a hoy, dave doesnt mind watching the shop.
