Just very good in deep water and strong winds for big squid. If I'm in 30 feet cast to side count to 25 . Twitch 2 times pause for 2 secs . Continue until back at boat. I also use 30 lb braid. Doesn't effect catch rate. And you don't loose jigs. They stay brand new looking for months. I only use them in 14 feet upwards . To hard in shallow water. Can squid any depths . Used them in 110 feet no problem. I just like them .get where most jigs can't. Only problem fish smash them to.( stuff pronges). Excellent on big squid , don't tend to catch small ones . Hope it helps.

Scotto another good

Scotto another good application for those jigs is to slow troll them. We found big squid holding this weed edge running east west but our drift was north to south so we were only getting a super short drift of about 30 seconds over them so i decided to troll up and down this edge instead, we were in about 8m, cast to the side while drifting let it sink towards bottom then put boat just in gear zig zagging up this edge and the squid were belting it. The zig zagging let the line go slack and let the jig sink back towards bottom rather than just planing up the water column if we were to deive straight

Cast out double the depth . Put in rod holder . But your 100 percent right on tiny drifts beau.
