East Fremantle Boat Ramp parking fine

Left East Freo boat ramp last week to go fishing out at Rotto. Both Parking Meters were out of action so was unable to pay metered fee and was subsequently fined. Wrote to the council explaining that both meters were not operational and they have refused to waive the fine.

I have used this boat ramp for 20 years and always paid the fee. Expalined this and they still refuse to waive fee.

Any one else had this happen in the town of east fremantle or have any suggestions what to do next?

Luckily caught 2 dhuies and 2 snapper and 1 massive flat head to ease the pain of the fine. But still *&@^@@ off.

them to court also,  I had the same problem when I visited Geraldton last year, I left note on dashboard, explaining, ticket machine was broken, date and time, come back 2hrs later no fine I was either lucky or parking inspector hadn't come around.

East Freo Council are a pack of ####s... Rangers drive up and down Riverside drive looking to make money for the council. Whether its fining people for having their shitzu's off the leash or for people who have parked on the verge as their was no other parking because they have gone to the Left Bank for a drink. Take them to court if you can afford the time mate. Pricks really when you think about the kind of money you have pumped into those machines.

These metres are always broken. The rangers are helpful when they are there. They do expect you to ring if the meter is broken. It sucks.

Big rates revenue for a gin palace development there.  Public space gets smaller every year.  Kick out the petrol sniffin fishermen attitude. The state government should remove the councils and take over control as one amalgamated department.

Someone in the council probably has a mate with his eye on the boat ramp potential development.

The replication of administration is rediculous. The rates people pay are disgusting.

Hi Ya, Maybe to late now but

Hi Ya,

Maybe to late now but try the small claims tribunal.  Not 100% sure whether they handle these sorta of claims but won't cost you much either as lawyers are not allowed in there (as far as I know).

Cheers.
