Echo sounder installation

Hey guys,
planning on buying new sounder this Boxing Day (Garmin 95sv) and just wondering how difficult sounders are to install? Pretty good with my hands and have a brief idea. Would people recommend to get someone who knows what they're doing to do it? Don't want it to be faulty! If so I'm keen as to get in asap before new year while I have time off and can go fishing. Anyone out there who might be interested in doing it for cash over the holidays? Cheers

Simple install
I installed a 95sv on my boat the other day. Very straight forward. Power, transducer, bracket and you're done. I really like the Garmin bracket so you aren't pulling individual plugs to remove your sounder, it has a multi plug built into the bracket.

Very simple, do it yourself
Very simple, do it yourself and save the $$ you would probably end up with a better install anyway!

Pretty straight forward
Wiring it all up is easy.
However, I suggest you take pics of your transom and post up the pics so fellow members can recommend the ideal placement of the transducer.
If you're not too far from Kiara/Morley, I might be able to drop by and double check your wiring, no charge!

Good stuff! With boating,
Good stuff! With boating, DYI is often the best way! You save money and also learn new things.
Many fishing adventures waiting for you!
P.S: Hope you used some sikaflex to seal the holes and screws where the transducer is mounted.

Hey bud just a tip if youve
Hey bud just a tip if youve instaled it and playing round with it to work out how to use it out of the water make sure you go to sounder menu and stop sounder transmision. When the transducers not in the water you can over heat it if you run it to long, not saying its gonna happen you just dont want to risk it. Good luck merry Christmas all

instalation transducers
The transducer can be put in a bucket or simular with water surrounding it so it can not over heat, you can then test the set up . Chirp transducers have more crystal elements that generate heat especially the 1 kw or higher power units. Airmar now has tags on thier chirp transducers explaining operation in air will void thier warranty. Take care and you will have a long reliable transducer life.
