Electric Reel

Anyone have suggestions for a mid priced electric reel.

Normally i dont use them nor thought about purchasing one but the situation has recently changed.

I am going under the knife this friday to repair torn ligaments & a small fracture in my right wrist.

The bad part is i am heading to Shark Bay for the school holidays with the boat and my hand will still be in a cast to minimise movement.

I thought a small economical electric reel could be the go so i dont have to wind the fish up, my son-in-law can do all the heavy stuff & leave me to just fish. (lazy hey).

Your suggestions will be greatly accepted as usual.

Seen a fair few people using both the large and small size WFT

seem to be pretty good for the price. Not world beaters but seen them pull up some good fish. Just got to pump and wind a bit if you get a good one on

Banax Kaigen

I would also check out the range of Banax Kaigen electric reels.  I have read good comments on an American forum about the Banax Kaigen 1000 when compared to the Daiwa Tanacom Bull 1000 and Tanacom 1000 and have also seen pictorial comparisons of the drag mechanisms of both.  Hands on feedback would suggest the Banax Kaigen drag system is superior to the Daiwas and if the engineering flows down to their smaller models the Banax Kaigen should be a good product.

have you thaught about using an alvey winch. as they are mounted on the boat you only need 1 hand to wind them in, lots cheaper than electric and no need for power . the only prob might be finding one
