end of a drought
After too many fruitless outings lately i wasn't too eager for getting outta bed this morning, but the fact that the weather was awsome and the boss gave new the day off i rolled out with some hope. As the artificials haven been producing for me lately I popped into shore catch yesterday to grab some quality squid which turns out i didnt even open, so back in the freezer for next trip it went, great packaging Mick. Launched at 7:30 into an amazing overcast morning and headed to some new ground. First spot produced a missed opportunity and the second produced a tasty 40cm blackass. But it was the third spot where things got interesting. I was keeping an eye on the sounder and as i saw the ground start popping up from the sand bed i dropped the 5in coconut ice zman jerk shad on the pe2 shogun/exist combo. As i opened the bail arm i noticed that there was an ugly blob about 1m off the bottom, my hart started pumping as i knew hell was about to break loose, so as i watched the small squiggly line of the jig head going down and meet up with the big ugly blob i twitched and paused BANG! ZZZZZZZZZZZ thud! Thud! Zzzzzzzzzzzz i knew straight away it was a pearler and after tense battle up popped a tasty 84cm dhuie. Boy was i happy to be bagged out by 8:30 in mint conditions. We stayed out for the rest of the day but nothing else to note besides the weather. Hope you all had a killa day and cheers for reading.
