End of My Engine!
It's a sad day!
My 200 Evinrude ficht has blown a hole in the engine block. I had the engine (and starter motor) fully serviced at Chivers Marine a couple of months ago, on the second trip out after the service, I took Giggsy from this site (he was looking for a spare space on a boat) out just past Rotto for a fish. We were cruising back in, absolute glass water so we had the taps open, the engine seemed to lose power gradually so I stopped to see what was going on, topped up the oil and made sure that there was plenty of fuel - all was well. However, the boat wouldn't start back up - another starter motor issue!
The boat went back to Chivers to fix the stater motor, after replacing the battery cables, relocating the battery into a shiny new battery box and repairing the starter motor they called me to explain that there is a wopping great hole in the engine block (they didn't charge me for the battery or starter work to be fair). It's pretty terminal and I don't have the cash lying around right now for a new motor. So she's got to go, absolutely gutted, time to start saving and maybe buy a new one next year.....just got to sell her now....
Anyone want to buy a boat?

Kind of hard to blame a 15 year old 2 stroke for blowing up...
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

cant find it on gumtree
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Will make a good project for someone with the time, a good scrub, grind, fill and polish and she will be a gem, oh and a new donk.

Cheers for the replies guys.
Cheers for the replies guys. I am tempted to stick a new motor on her - was planning to do a bit of work on her now I have her in the driveway. Now I've got to decide whether to let her go or save up for the new engine and get the jobs done on her whilst the pennies are building up.
Anyone know a good place for second hand motors? I've seen a 115 E-Tec on gumtree for just under $8k. Not sure that would be enough to push her along though and will take a few months before I can afford it.....

P.s. the ficht only had 400 hours on it and had been fully serviced at Chivers - certainly shouldn't have gone pop!

Bummer about your motor have you checked out
"boatsonline" i was looking there the other day - click on the accessories section then "view outboards" theres a few that may suit that hull some are older motors and theres quite a good turnover of motors coming and going on that site i got mine from there and its been great. if i had the time to do it up i would grab your boat im a fan of those big hulls ive got a voyager LTD which to me looks like a smaller version ofyour hull its an oldie but its been great so far hope you locate a good motor at a good price cause im sure you dont wanna let that hull go
