EOI - fellow badminton players??

Me been Asian... are there anybody that play badminton among all the Fishwrecked members here???
Im thinking of forming a playing club where we meet up everyweek for a few hours. Obviously I need numbers to be able to do this. I'll hunt around for courts and see what sort of prices there is. Once we have the numbers, Im thinking of taking a fee for every meet to cover the court cost and replacing shuttecocks. If it gets big enough, there maybe comps with prizes and that may lead to annual best player comps...just a thought atm.
SO....anyone??

Haha. I'm too lazy to play mid week, and too drunk or busy fishing on the weekends.
Living NOR doesn't help either.
Sorry boys, I'm out.

Baddy not that big here. I had it as a year 12 school sport, and being i was at the time in the WA state team and Australian U/19 squad the competition really didnt stand up, but was still fun none the less.
Guy i played state with moved to England about 6 years ago, Nick Kidd, not sure if the name rings a bell, but he was ranked 2 i think in England for a while.

At 150kg and needing 2 shoulder reconstructions I think people would pay to see me in full flight in pursuit of the elusive cock.

well...I know there's quite a few NOR but not much SOR.
I havent actually started looking where yet, those are just a few of the places Ive played at. If there's only central to Perth would be great but the ones Ive been to are expensive and very poor (re: old) courts. I'll have another good look around.

Try the rec centre in ummm... Vic park just off kent st, next to vic park library. Also one on manning rd in karawarra, thats pretty new place not far from fwy. Hmm... Theres also place in subi on hay st, its quite big. Those are the only places i can think of where its not too far nor or sor. Hope that helps.

If you are going to play
If you are going to play regularly it may pay to become a member of the UWA sports union. I was playing a bit of squash there last year and when you join you get half price court hire.

Baddy
I already play twice a week, Tues in armadale in a dedicated baddy centre (best courts in Perth) and Thurs at melvile rec centre. Would be willing to play when able depending on work/familly comitments.
I would rather be fishing

Laurie is still about, the penant comp hasnt run for a few years through lack of numbers, laurie just organises games amoungst whoever turns up now. The popularity of baddy has dropped off over the last 8 years that i have been playing.

Hi Ya,
Hmm, where has this gone?
In my younger days used to play a lot of baddy. Mate of mine was state school boys champ and he and his sister were mixed doubles champs.
But that was 20, maybe 30, maybe 30 something, could be getting close to 40 years ago.

We had some good games togeher - baddy you guys, baddy - minds up a little higher.
Cheers.
