Hi guys
I am heading down to to esperence in early september. And l thought i would pack the rods l will only be doing landbased fishing for smaller species such as herring, squid, snook, tailor. Are there any salmon still around. One more question what type of rigs do you guys use catch snook off the jettys.
Thanks in advance

Hi Ethan, plenty of salmon
Hi Ethan, plenty of salmon around. Only thing is the jetty is out of action, due to be demolished. Still can fish off the groynes and smaller jetties in the bay though.
Not many tailor down here but heaps of squid lately.
Never caught LB snook before only in my tinny but I've seen the young guys catch them on metal lures fished close to the weed beds.
Simply can't beat the blob/green straw rigs for herring, out fishes 10g halco twisties even.
Hope this helps.

Any of the bays in the national park do well. USE CAUTION around the rocks and take a life vest and epirp/comms if alone. Swells do pick up unexpectantly and the black algae crap is everywhere. Iv'e caught queenies, harlaquin, black ass, the odd skippy and bulk herring in most areas.
