Learmonth at high tide good

Learmonth at high tide good for queenies / occasional mackies n yftuna. Usually bait schooled up under the jetty - If baitball there, predators will come in on high tide. Always have a squidjig rigged on a flickrod - sightfishing for them is great fun from there. Always check along the rockwalls before the jetty too, as the squidlies nestle in close to the rocks often. At night from here good chance of huge shovelnose rays! seen plenty caught from this spot.

Like glen says, Mildura wreck good option for low tide.

Not sure on West side L/based for the species you mentioned - we usually chasing spanglies of the rocks at high tide if weather gods dont allow boats out. night-time great for spanglies too.

Never discount the harbour rock walls either - been some great catches along the wall.

good luck!

:-)

Hey CHris.

Been a number of years since I've been up there, but had a bumper day at Trisel Access one day, with big Queenies well over a metre following schools of gardies into the horseshoe shaped reef.

Also went with a local to a place I think is called Pilgrumuna, and we were sight casting to masive bluebone.  He dropped one, and I spent 2 hours trying to stalk one out of one of the reef holes.

Not sure about the legalities of fishing the naval pier, but popped my GT cherry there.

Good times.
