got this little barra a few k's south of learmonth in early may
was standing on some rocks a little bit out from the beach and took the lure right at my feet
then proceeded to get airborne
good to see them so far south

Nice surprise
A good mate of mine got on to some good barra 10-15 kilometres north of Onslow a couple of years back. Biggest fish went about 90cm.

Sure i read something about a barra farm being in the gulf... Wonder if a few ever got loose?? ;)

Theres always been stories of a few barra in the gulf, but I ve only heard them being caught right up in the gulf and in low numbers ..interesting that this was caught near Learmonth.... nice catch mate

Gulf Barrra
Mate, that is a top capture there. I would give anything to come up tight to one of those in the gulf but you have given me hope. The old bucktail jig kills it on the flats too hey!

The bucktail jig is the lure for flats for sure. I made up a few before the trip in case the more expensive lures didnt survive.
It would be great if some bigger models started to show up, will see what happens in the next few years.
yeah the shirt is pretty appropriate as she was home with the kid :)
