There's a wave rider buoy but no other fads. Occasionally there are mooring buoys around the rigs from what I've been told but I've never been out there when they've been in place.

I have - more dollies than you could poke a gum tree at. Not out there anymore though, had a free jumping marlin of about 200kg around it as well.

Not sure where they are now but start at the 200m line past the murion and head west - look for large yellow drums.

Still kind of missing the point mate.

The ones that Simon is talking about, they're NOT out there now, because they're in a marine services yard.

There is at least one other FAD, the waverider buoy, but I don't have coords for it.

Not FAD related

But there is a buoy about half way between the marina ramp and Bundegi ramp.  I have made a mental note of it in the past to be careful if I was travelling in darkness hours as I don't think it is lit.  Anyone know what this buoy is?

On the charts, there is some pearl cultures, but not sure if thats different. However, I have fished a buoy with Lucky Tim, that is in that area, so is probably the same one? Heres a video I took while around it:

Do buoys have to be lit or is the onus on the skipper to see buoys lit or unlit at night?

Good to meet you Brett the other day in the shop. Ryan told me the yellow waverider buoy is in about 60m of water due West of Northwest reef. You get little dollys off it and trolling around that area is good for billies.

Yep, it's a wave rider buoy, hit and miss really, sometimes its good, generally its empty.  The pearl leases are still being used just as a test bed, no serious operation is going on there.  Hold's good bait and other ooglies at certain times of the year, but you just have to find that out for yourselves. :)

bodie.....i think im agreeing with you here, whether they have been pulled in or not, a couple answers i got were on the lines find them for your self!

that wave rider ive herd , even EGFC are some what tight lipped, the only wave ride bouy out now in close is the one everyones talking about....there are more far far out more deeper in depths of 400m+ EGFC gave me an email for a charter boat oeprator strikezone i think his name was(wouldnt give a general area, not that i plan on fishing them, but i have a feeling there kept to themselves, which is fair enough). Good lad for sharing some infomation though!
