Exploring new grounds and gotta feed

Tired a different location instead of the gay bay last weekend. The little 5m savage clocked 120km but worth it got a good mixed bag and found some not bad ground.

definately a good feed there, well worth the miles traveled. doing the exploring doesnt always pay off but it certainly can open up more ground for you. well done.

 Gotta run higher with p66

Gotta run higher with p66 soft corals won’t show up properly. I have spent weeks jumping over the side freediving to confirm the ground. From there I tune the sounder so you can’t miss it. That’s going slow and at speed bottom lock shows a nice clear read spike when you run over it at 50km an hour. Almost never follow the guides for tuning sounders. Every reef is different and I tune my sounder to the reef I’m looking for. On all honesty you will miss a lot of plate coral and rubble reef will low gain. Big difference between 1kw and p66.

And like you have "proved" ground by diving to confirm.  I like less gain as the Furuno clearly shows caves and overhangs which vanish when the gain is too high.  Oddly the pictures I see almost mimic what you have shown, love to see what I call flarey ground particularly in the 40's as it always holds good fish
