Went out today chasing blacks...raised 7, for 7 strikes, some fish hit multiple lures one after another....unforuntately got 4 solid strikes and hook ups and lost two two them jumping and two to terminal tackle failure (sucks i know its a learning curve) got get my knots right....(two brakes at the binimi)....
was a awsome day with some times not even waiting 10 mintues between different fish....
think we had a sail come in at one point too or it was a real real small black....
fish of the trip so far has been a 21.2 kg mackie taken on PE2 with a 60 pound fluro leader...no wire neally was spooled.
got a couple small coronations too

Nice
Nice work Brett. Did you take some tags up with you?
Maybe you could try a plait as you can sometimes burn and weaken the line when tensioning up a bimini.

Jealousy Continues
Sounds like your having a ripper time - i've been back for a few weeks after doing Gamex and had some time in CBay and am having massive withdrawals.
The plait is the go for all your mono trolling setups - i couldnt tie them for $hit so i youtubed it and Peter Pakula has a ripper video on the knot - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uUWS7dzOn0
Good luck!

thanks....alll we are having a break from the billfishing (not my choice!!!) as we have gone pretty hard the last 3/4 days.... all in all
we have raised around 18 marlin/sails....7 the first days, 7 the next day ,4 today...with a few landed two and also a double hook up of blacks of roughly 50 kg......(both landed and released)...
the bills are running hot up here not just the blacks but blues too if you know where to look.....
will post flicks and a big report at the end of the trip we still have another 10 days!
