If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Can understand the frustration! Looks like there won't be any decent fishing in Exxy for quite some time looking out at the gulf at the moment. :(

If I may offer some advise Paul
don't take up an interest in metro billfishing, it's even less productive. Seven hours trolling yesterday for zilch. Was a lovely day though.

i think jurien has just started firing up now (more then one mac caught each session) so it shouldnt be too long before the fish come out of the deeper water water where theyre harder to find and start terrorising the many bait schools that are behind the 3mile at the moment

Don't mind the hours trolling
Don't mind the hours trolling for billies.as it's all worth it when you get that fish of a life time .every year we hear of all these macs and just not happening for me.still that's fishing and just being on the water is a bonus.

patience glass hopper, patience.
metro macks are usually hard earnt, when it gets tough , you either spit it ( have done myself)
or keep going with it ( my usual course of action ) , sometimes for no reward, you still have to pay for fuel , clean the boat etc
and the blank looks from the missus when you say , no fish! after you have been gone all day.
you will catch more weed, sambos and the odd norwest blowie , than you will macks.
but ----- but when it all comes together , and after hours of fruitless trolling , on a sunny calm autumm morning with no weed what so ever
, and the drags singing on a good metro mack , to match the one you have in the icebox already, its a great feeling.
my advise , give up , give up now, most of you plastic pullers dont have what it takes!
footnote; trolled 4 times this year , 1 small tuna and 23.5kgs of weed.

A 6kg shark Mac was my first
A 6kg shark Mac was my first fish on my boat trolled off of west end, got me hooked on metro trolling. 6 years on and all that is added to that list is 2 spanisrds 9-10kg. Guess that's good compared to some but considering I put in a troll 90% of the time I'm out rotto way it's not a good ratio!!

well dont cry too much paul i
well dont cry too much paul i clocked up 32 hours trolling just on my boat a and few more on others last year and still remain mackless
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Yes remember your effort,
Yes remember your effort, Super, and no grumble from you.
Persistance does pay off, Did my time as well last season and it has paid off; Got a fair few this season and not far from the marina either!
To the grumbler; The mackies are still hungry for food, so your "offerings" must not meet the mark.
No need to vent on here, just take your perscibed medication like a good boy

Tongue
Bit of a flippant tongue in cheek remark from Paul, doesnt make him a grumbler. There's an art to trolling Paul, just like you know there is an art to catching dhuies, unfortunately if the fish arent there then the fish arent there, the nature of pelagics as such.
Love to see the pics of this seasons fish glastronomic.

My trumpet is blown by others, sunshine, and it ain't a dilly boy!
Just finnished a wonderfull Mackie steak plus a slab of Dhuefish.
I have caught that much of it, while you were at work wresling with Gippo that my much loved felines dine every day on freshly caught fish.
So suffer in your jocks as I ain't post pics by bollocks treads uttered by those who cannot catch a simple mackie and then spit their dummy out of their rowing boat on a public forum
Have a nice calming cuppa herbalistic tea and a laydown to regain your composure.

Think it was something like "pocket jockey" or something along those lines that seems appropriate.
