3 DAYS wild fishing adventure in Thailand for father & son fishing bonding trip.
This is Reza & Aydin very 1st time wild snakehead fishing trip in Thailand.
Not an easy task as I need to take into account their safety , foods and clean & warm accomodation and yet still having fun chasing wild snakehead at the dam.
I want to make it a memorable & unforgettable once a lifetime father & son fishing adventure trip in Thailand.
Something they will cherish the great moment their had during this fishing adventure trip.
Alots of plannings is needed during the preparation for the trip & also chasing after fries mama toman pose a big challenge for them.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

I am Reza and my 12 year old son is Aydin and we both feature in John’s report. This is my 1st post on Fishwrecked. As you can see from the photos we had an awesome time and while the fishing was excellent, the whole trip was an adventure into remote Thailand exploring the lake, rivers and mountains.
A plug for John/BKK Guy if I am allowed. John was a great guide in Bangkok and has a very professional organization. His service included pickup from the airport and transfer out of Bangkok in a comfortable air-conditioned four wheel drive. Prior to the trip I discussed our target species and requirements of a private air-conditioned room with an ensuite which he organized. He was also aware of my concerns about preventing gastro and the importance of fresh water and cleanliness when eating.
John provided all this and was certainly very generous. All meals which included delicious Thai food were included and at the end of each day he ensured that drink supplies were fully replenished as well as a good supply of bottled water.
I found that John was probably the most intense fisherman I have met. He lived, breathed and talked fishing and had a very scientific approach to catching the Toman. This certainly paid off as he was able to repeatedly deliver results. The topwater action for Toman was spectacular!
Such was his intensity that he continued to fish when other guides may have stopped. To be honest after catching our target species in the morning I would have been happy to relax after lunch but he was keen to push on and try to catch more. This involved countless maneuvering around the lake which clearly burnt up a lot of petrol and ate into his profit margin but this did not seem to concern him.
And he practices catch and release of all fish.
I have been so impressed with John’s service and amiability that we are now at the stage of planning further trips to Thailand. The next plan is to target Featherback, Asian Redtail catfish and Goonch catfish around July and to probably return in January to target the giant Mekong freshwater stingray.
I would strongly urge everyone to consider fishing with John whenever you are in Thailand as it is such an easy destination to reach from Perth and he provides a complete service from pickup at the airport to all fishing/meals/accommodation to delivery back to the airport for your return home. He is also very reasonably priced and possibly one of the cheapest fishing charters I have ever been on given the strength of the Australian dollar compared to the Thai Baht.

Ive just booked a 2 day trip
Ive just booked a 2 day trip with John in August targeting snakehead on fly. Apparently its a great time of year as the fryballs will be guarded by the parents. Im really looking forward to the challenge of trying to catch one on fly. Lots of big surface splashing patterns and some sub surface flies with rattles and wiggle heads to target them. Cant wait.
