Feathers / Foil rigs

Hi,
In the UK we used to drop 4 hook rigs with feathers or foil and concistently catch Mackereal, Cod, Ling, Whiting. Not seen these types of rigs used anywhere in Perth. Are the fish here a bit smarter than to chase tin foil?

may depend on the species -
may depend on the species - trevally for example will take pretty much anything if it moving - silver hook often enough!
similar setups are used here to catch yellow tail/scad

Baitchaser
I think you're referring to Bait Chaser or Sabiki rigs. Most tackle stores should stock them.

I've seen the ones with the
I've seen the ones with the teeny tiny hooks for catching bait fish; but not seen them with size 1 or 1/0 hooks for catching bigger fish.
On any summers day in the UK, you'd have 100 people lined up on sea walls casting out these rigs and pulling in 3 or 4 30cm+ mackerel at a time.
I wonder if these rigs would be effective at catching Tailor or salmon from the beach.

Flasher rigs
Rigs for catching fish larger than than baitfish are often referred to as 'Flasher Rigs'. Google it and you will see what is available. I've not tried them from the shore but I have had success with them on a boat. A small piece of bait often increases the catch rate.

correct me if im wrong but its not legal to fish with more than 3 hooks or sets of hooks on your line, even tho the baitchaser rigs have up to 10 you need to cut them down .
i have seen similar to what your talking about in a couple of tackle stores but cant remember where
