Few fish from the canning

Gday members, here is a few of the fish I've caught in the canning over the past 7 days.

Starting from the top is a 50cm flatty caught on canning flats on a Zman 2.5" grub in bloodworm, the fight with this fish was very average, no long runs, no big head shakes, just dead weight.

Second is a 42cm fork length bream caught under canning bridge on raffles side of the bridge on Zman 2.5" grub in motor oil great fight amongst the pylons, first time I've taken a photo using the timer on my camera.

Third is another stud bream of 44cm to the fork again caught under the canning bridge on raffles side and yeah you guessed it caught using Zman 2.5" grub in bloodworm, this fish was in great shape and geez did it pull.

Finally is my personal favourite fish to catch in the canning, a 30cm fork length Tarwine, fish was caught on the flats next to canning bridge, put up a great fight, taking 3 screaming runs before being landed.

All of the fish were released to fight another day.

Also any tips on how to take quality photos of bream and flathead would be much apprieciated, been playing around with different angles, but still haven't taken the perfect shot as yet.

Regards Matt

ah yeah I thought that might of been you, wasn't sure though, yeah I didn't do too badly in the end, walked up towards the boat ramp on the freeway side of the river not longer after you left and caught few flattys and heaps rat bream, once that tide changed around it fired up at the bridge, was ripping through in the morning!

Cheers Ulabuster!

I use a few different size jig heads, from .5g to 2.5g, just try new things until you get results! if your getting smashed by blowies, move 5 metres or so, best of luck mate!

Good work landing those big

Good work landing those big units amongst the pylons mate.I had a wander out there the other day and can remember thinking if i hook up its going to be a minute of madness trying to stop them. What size leader you using for in there? I ended up getting a 38cm fish on the flats on the city side and had a soapy of around 5kg follow my plastic nearly to my feet.Good fun.

As far a shots go when your alone i like setting the camera to macro and shooting from the head down.Gives awesome definition and colour. You can also download free photo editing software such as photoscape which can fix up any small issues with levels or contrast.

Cheers chrisp!

Congrats on the 38cm fish, they go hard at that size! I use Sunline Rock fluro carbon in 4lb and around 15-20 feet of it, allows me to fish my drag at near on locked up, i'll only get 2-3 fish out of a leader before changing it, but pays to check the first half of the leader fairly often, lost some giants from my leader parting. I've had a couple hook ups on mulla's in that same spot your talking about, only to lose them after a lengthy fight, can't be too long before I break the curse though!

Thanks heaps for the tips on taking a better photo, will try it out next time I get a beast of a bream.
