Fire line vs tufline

Looking at re-spooling a couple of reels and I have two options:

50lb tufline of 65lb Berkley fireline.

Any opinions/ experience with either?

cheers

I Have 30lb tuffline - love it.

I have some lower breaking strain fireline on my flick rod, it's OK, but has gone a little 'fluffy' and is less used and younger than my still perfect tuffline.

I really rate fireline as a light line...... up to 10lb. I LOVE 3lb crystal as bream line.

Dont like it much above that. Tuff line over fireline in that space.

Yeah , I really rate fireline as well. Used heavily for many years and no unexplained breakoffs. very reliable, even when its fluffy it still seems to have good strength, even though the fluffiness (real word ?.. lol) indicates is time to cut some off.

I run the 30lb on my satiga 5000 and my leader always breaks (80-100) so god knows what the true breaking strain is.

Anything above 20lb for Fireline is way too stiff for me. So for your 2 options above i'll go for Tuffline.

Benn using 30lb & 50lb Tuffline for a number of years particularly for spinning at Quobba. Would highly recommend.

Braid

Tufline is good braid and we prefer braid over fused lines like Fireline etc. Heavier line classes in Fireline are thick and stiff (lighter stuff is fine)

Our preference is Berkley Whiplash in the heavier line classes, its thin/strong/reliable and one of our biggest sellers.
