Fires

Hoping Fishwrecked members up the north end of town are safe from these fires, doesn’t seem to be a let up and have to acknowledge the great job our firies are doing. Did see some assistance is coming in the shape of a 737 retardant bomber from NSW on its way across to WA this evening. Every bit helps.

Was up at Seabird last night
Was up at Seabird last night Dale and decided to head home early as they'd blocked Indian Ocean drive south from our turn off. It is massive and looks like a volcanic eruption. The wind changes are stuffing the poor firey's around, hat's off to them working their arses off in this heat.

Won't be the same driving down Yanchep Beach road and not seeing Two Tones service station, been there for years and hadn't change a bit in the many years I lived in the area

Agreed. I used to go there to get a feed after surfing at The Spot back in the 80's. Sad day indeed.

Caught a bit on the news
Caught a bit on the news about volunteers should be paid considering the whole "do i leave a fire and go back to work because of loss of pay " ?
Businesses not happy about volunteers taking time off, etc.
I would like to see volunteers paid / businesses compensated in some capacity but unsure of just how to do that as there are times where a fire just takes time to be put out and volunteers are needed.
Maybe some others on here would have a good idea as I'm unsure of what impact volunteers get in their lives.
