Holy Torpedo!
Nice catch! Judging by the slimline body, the fish would've fought hard!
Can you please advise what sort of tackle I would need to fight and hopefully bring aboard one of those "torpedos"? Haha
How far would I need to go if launching from Hillarys or Ocean Reef? Generally, any info on how to land one of those fish would be great!

On lighter gear Spaniards go well.
mate we troll mainly 6 and 10 kg gear, any minnow will catch them when they are on the chew.
I have no Idea where you would need to go from a Metro launch...we are 600km north.
Good luck. Spanish Mack is so underrated as a food fish , it isn't funny.
Tteat them with respect, bleed, slurry, and you will have some primo tucker!

Thanks!
Thanks for the info mate. Have done a bit of researching and its highly possible to catch Spaniards in Perth metro, sometimes at North Mole! Just need to wait for warm water ideally 23deg +
No wonder theres talk about water temp on FW lately! You blokes are waiting for the Pelagics!!!!

This one looks like a tiddler.
The missus landed a honker about 20 minutes later, and it was a corker! Made this one look like a scalie!

Yeah.....old faithful Halco Lazer Pro.
The new boat is a bit of a learning curve thing being a small ally cat....but I am getting there.
