First time for everything - Take 2

After last year finally managing the first legal Pinkie, Australia Day yielded our first legal Dhufish after eons of trying. Left from Ocean Reef at 6ish, pleasantly  suprised by the few numbers in the car park. Trolled around and up and down for ~2.5 hours in the hope of first metro Mack, but with no luck. Decided to head out a little to a spot we had some sambo fun on a couple of years ago, and marked an interesting tiny peak on the way out. Hit that spot on the way back in. First drop and up popped a double of 2 little Dhuies, 1 at 48cm, and the other about half that...they went swimming back down with no problems...a couple of drifts later and my wife was on to something good. She has a back injury unfortunately for her, so it was up to me to lift, and she wound. The result was this 82 cm model, in very good nick due to the slow retrieve....so we decided to send it back on a release weight to be sure, and it swam down. I'm calling it half each!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Thanks for the comments folks.....it was a sensational fish, and the release decision wasn't too easy, but a great feeling seeing it go for sure....we had to have lamb for dinner but....:(
