My money is on a amberjack, the fin ray count is the give away. 29-35 is the magic number and looking at the picture, it appears to be all of that.

Not easy! Going purely on the count and lack of colour (yellow) anywhere in the picture Im with the Ambers. But That is the most YFK-looking amber I have ever seen.

YTK
Head ad shoulders are too narrow for an amber ad YTK loose their colour quickly once they come out of the water.
Seen heaps over the years and am in no doubt on this one

Think I've done my money
After closer inspection and looking at other photos of ambers I've caught, recon your right Carnarvonite.

amberjack
This is considered the only way to determine the difference
"The most efficient way of determining the difference between all three is to conduct a dorsal ray count on the second or rear dorsal fin of each species with Amberjack having 29 – 35, Samson fish 23 – 25 and Yellow tail kings 31 – 34. Dorsal rays are the soft, vertical lines which run through a fish’s dorsal fin. Amberjack also have a distinctive gold band running horizontally across the body of the fish and larger scales than Samson fish. The head shape of an Amberjack is also slightly different to that of a Samson fish."
I count 30 dorsal ray which confirms what I already thought an Amberjack, the angle of the photo coming from the top makes the head look skinnier and I have never seen a YTK without a yellow caudal fin. I reckon fishing north of Geraldton I have caught 3 ambers to every sambo they are prolific up that way

Amberjack
I'd call this an Amberjack Seriola dumerili. the most important feature is the shape of the supramaxilla (the flange at the back of the upper jaw). Broad in this fish compared to YTK, which is much narrower - see photo. Also body shape, colour, colour of fins and fin tips, tail size, fin length, all point to Amberjack for me.

I think once people notice
I think once people notice the angle the photo was taken on they'll realise the difference it has made on the shape of the fish
