hey guys
took some rookies out the other day to get them onto their first dollys, also had a bit of a jig and got into some sambos which was good fun. Both the amatuers fish were caught on live herring, damien decided to keep his for the table and long shanks decided to catch and release. Heres a few pics to check out
Damo's first dolly- went 7kg
long shanks first- went 5kg
damo's first sambo- estimated 20kg

Just put a single hook in
Just put a single hook in front of their dorsal fin about 5mm down.
Don't strike to early, let them have time to swallow it.
It's pretty exciting stuff to watch. Have had herring jumping out of the water with dollies in hot pursuit jumping after them.
Dollies take the herring head first most of the time.
Live herring has always out fished any other bait or lure for me at the FADs.

Nice fish Damo. The roller is still inflated and working a treat. Used it yesterday after we came in ,caught a couple of nice dhues.
