A fish worth while on a KG rig
When drifting on the flat coral out from Rockingham i use a combo of snelled 7/0 hooks on the top and 2/0 hooks on the bottom for kg. Never had any luck on the small hooks but still try and this time it payed off , it was a bit of a lucky catch for me (not the fish) as i only use 20lb line on the small hooks
the wrasse took the bait and then the dhui wanted the wrasse (a couple of nice bites in the side)
the wrasse was on the bottom of the two hooks and the dhui was on the top one just in the corner of the mouth , if you have a good look you can see how lucky i was
We had the dhui for dinner (well a part of him anyway) done in a light tempura batter
tasted great,
It was a nice way to break our 7 month drought on the masked bandits, he went 7.5kg

sure did come up slow, i
sure did come up slow, i left the reel on the strike mode as i knew it was a decent fish from its first run so didnt want to put too much pressure on
