fisheries check

Got in from a dive today, and two plain clothed fisheries officers asked to check my skippers ticket flairs ,lifejackets, and check the boat for crays ,nice to see so close to Christmas ,keeping people honest. Not too often I see them at Two Rocks

Fisheries officers

Fri, 2008-12-26 07:40

Mate from 2rocks went down to put his pots in for the first time, fisheries officer asked for his RST,he said he had a Master class 5,no good, had to drive home and get his licence to prove he had it before they would let him go out.

He went down to Hillarys, presented his licence and had his RST in 5 minutes.

At least they didn't wait untill he was under way and ping him for no having it on him

Fisheries

Fri, 2008-12-26 09:01

Had fisheries at the jetty in Bunbury week before last checking all boats. They wanted to see our catch and know what we let go etc. I asked them if they wanted to see my RST and they said no, that is for DPI to do!

Bob for eleven years, we've never had Fisheries approach us or Marine and Harbours.  They've been in Town but never have been approached coming in/out to be inspected.  Had the volunteers have a yak with us.
