Herring and Gardies are going strong there at the moment, with burley bombs and maggots/wogs the preferred bait. No noise on Tailor, but have heard consistent reports of snapper at most rock walls over the last week.

Tell ya what tho, wanna book your spot early....

Some for chasing the smaller fish and a big rod baited with squid or a mulie. As Albee said, it will be pretty packed down there this weekend.

Dano skippy

Mon, 2008-05-26 14:53

Dano, when I was back in Perth, my wife and I used to take the boat out around the heads ay dusk and drop the pick about 500 meters from the wall. We always used to get a good feed of decent skippy and tarwhine. So the skippy are there.

you can get mullaz on the

Mon, 2008-05-26 18:44

you can get mullaz on the right time that is,after long showers. They will get washed out of river and exits through the mouth between north and south mole. See where there is a patch of murky water and thats where ur fish is waiting to ambush ur bait! heard people sayin full moon is the best time too!

Cheers

what are the best baits to use (for big & small fish)?

*Whole scally mackerel, yellowtail and poddy mullet have been working well for big fish and coral prawns and aniseed dipped wogs for small fish!

Are early mornings good for fishing or is it better at night time?

*The high tide and just before sundown has been the most consistent!

what is the best rigs to use there?

*Use two rods, one with a running star sinker set up and one with a patternoster rig!

and whats on the bite at the moment?

*Gardies & pink snapper
