Three gang rigs with about 400mm of line (some use trace) run off a three way swivel sinker can be a star or spoon with about 600mm of line run off other end of three way swivel. this is a simple rig I usually have 20pd main line and upto 30pd on rig sinker can have lighter line so if you do get snagged you wont lost whole rig.

There are a few variations trial and error to see what suits your rod and reel. Can use light gear for more of a challenge.

Otherwise drop round to one of this sites sponsors or send them a PM.

depending on where your fishing and which way the wind is blowing. you can also just baitcast out a mulie on a set of 3ganged hooks.no real need for wire unless you think you might get a toothy critter or a monster taylor.beach fishing is better with a sinker and some groyn and jetty fishing is better baitcasting

What size magnum do you use ? I just went to buy some but got put off by the depth they dive and with the halco twisty do you use both gold and chrome ?

Going to try out the Ritcher lures down at golden bay this arvo

Also the guy in the shop recommended soft platics. Have you had and success with these ?

Patanoster Rig

Search for this rig using google. It's a simple setup but very effective. Buy or make some gangs which match the size of bait you intend to use. For the first timers the tackle shops do sell pre-made rigs. Maybe buy one of those and then make you own by (dare I say) copying the idea.

Various other options include bait casting which is just a gand on a trace with no sinker. Poppers and stick baits are also good where there is plenty of wash.

An even better idea is to go down to the beaches in the morning or evening and see what the experienced guys are using. They won't (shouldn't) bite you for asking.
