My dad's going out.  Cray's

Mon, 2008-01-07 20:37

My dad's going out.  Cray's are moving back in so the shallows will hopefully be firing...  Heard reports of good numbers of biggish Pinkies around the 100m mark behind the Bank, might also be worth a look...

Try my luck

Mon, 2008-01-07 20:47

Going to try my luck tomorrow, even got a mate from work to have a sickie too so we can get out. Havent been out for month or so, so I am keen and have just spent the last few hours making a heap of new spare rigs.

Thanks for that Tim.  The kids are pestering for a fish as well, so might not have the chance to hit the FADs.  Will see, if it is really flat. I might just bring them along, if not I will just fish in close.

Too far out

Mon, 2008-01-07 22:09

Too far out for me, yeah yeah. Heard it all before, but will see what tomorrow brings. Have a empty freezer so need to venture out a bit and see what I can find, one good fish at least would do! Unfortunately I cant get out too early though as I am at work and dont get away until just after 7. Hopefully I will be on the water by 9, better late than never.

Forecast

Tue, 2008-01-08 19:33

If you hit the WA forecast link on the left of the Seabreeze screen it tells you that it was going to be 13/18knts today.

Ive found you really need to read the forecast and look at the graphs together to try and get a best guess.

By the time

Tue, 2008-01-08 20:56

By the time I got out on the water and got about 30kms out the wind started really picking up, which wasnt that comfortable in my C/C .  Boated one Queen snapper which was just over 70cm and that was it before we battled the sea back in. Certainly saw the fuel dissapear today in the crap conditions!

Yes siree it was rough.

Tue, 2008-01-08 21:41

Yes siree it was rough.  Trip out to the jigging spot was pretty wet.  Fish were there but pretty hard to stay on a school.  Had to work jigs hard to illicit a strike.  Plenty of jigs lost but plenty of experience gained by my inexperiencrd crew.

Tue, 2008-01-08 21:59

Was the pitts out there today.  White caps all over.  Didn't even bother to wet a line, just took the kids for a cruise.
