yeah there's a dude that
yeah there's a dude that fishes regularly off the reef i spoke to him today and he got a 4kg salmon and a descent tailor yesterday at sunset. I fish off the trigg island/rock and cast towards north (hillarys way). You need a big rod to clear the reef and get into the clear water bit hard and you can lose tackle. The beach is always good to try if you dont feel like doing that.

Good work
Glad you got into something mate - the gardies have been prolific around the mole for a while now and some great sized ones too.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - but I'm pretty sure the herring head towards South Australia to spawn before migrating back around the coast again. So a proportion of the fish would be on the move and I'm assuming the biggest and strongest of them...leaving a handful of smaller fish behind.
