Fishless Friday

Took the boat out for a run on Friday. Great expectations as the forecast was great and first time out to run in the new donk.
Launched at Ocean Reef at 6.30am to a 15 knot North Easterly ( what happened to the forecasted 2 knots?) Travelled 150klm for the day and only got one snapper and a sambo. Tried several spots and could not find a fish. Is it just me or are there no fish out there. The crew are getting a bit edgy and next trip I could be swimming home if I don't lift my game.
As I had to run in the new motor I didn't mind travelling a few k's but would have been nice to find some fish.
Would like to here from anyone else that went out on Friday - how did you go ?

Same here
Same thing happened to me on Friday Paul. Visited some good spots that showed fish, had only about half a knot drift, minimal wind, swell about 1-2m - perfect. I only got two bites all day. Landed a nice little (51cm pinky), on the drift-bait so it was good fun. Had seven others fishing and between us we only boated 3 pinkies (1 U/S), 2 black-arse, 1 swallow-tail and 1 U/S dhuie. Not great for seven hours on the water. I guess thats why that call it fishing and not catching. Could have been worse, I could have been at work......
Three days without it and I get a little jumpy
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Don't stress, we've had days
Don't stress, we've had days like that up here too! Sometimes they just don't wanna bite.

Quiet
Was quiet up here on Friday too. I took Thipthorp out inside the reef and couldn't even find a spanglie. Mind you, I did get busted up big time by the reef.

Well we went out Saturday 5M
Well we went out Saturday 5M swell and we fished for about 1 hour, late night the day before and we were both feeling sick. We had plenty of activity on the sounder but only managed an undersize dhuie.
