can never get enough of fishing. went last night and got a couple of nice bream on gang hooks and whole mulie's, 35cm blackies. Kept 1 cos it swallowed the 5.0 gang right the way down (normally they just hook the lower lip!) so it was bleeding way too much to put it back to die. caught a couple of others bout the same size and they were released no drama's. No pics unfortunately cos i left my camera at home.

as for location on the 17th?? maybe somewhere where we can get there via 2 wheel drive vehicle's? neither Marc or I own a 4x4 :-(

worst case if we do go somewhere where you need a 4x4 we can chip in for fuel ect if someone can give us a lift. I'm happy either way

yeah man, well, i got a 4x4, but itll be a tight ride for you blokes squeezed into the back when h0ju is farting in your face all the way up to wherever we go lol

But worst case scenario, we will just head to jurien or maybe a little further north... dunno yet...

for offroad, though, always wanted to try wedge and/or grey island which is just south of cervantes but yeah, definitly keen to explore...

Also, you guys be staying the night i gather? We're thinking a nice overnighter so we can fish the rising tide which peaks at midnight at that time....

Rickets sbend is the same place as flatrocks, Its basicly between dongara and geraldton.

Alot more spots around the area other than flatrocks but you need a 4x4.

Are we requiring 4x4's??? I have a ute so can stock with as much gear  as required, as long as scano n marc dont mind sittin in the ute, if not prob get the pajero. Or we will only need 2wd???

I know its a bit early but the weather forecast says a little rain early on sunday..

Prolly wont hit where we are going but if it does, dont forget to pack some wet weather shit. The wet weather may mean some nice onshore winds for some chop so we could get some good sized toothies :D

Ok the proposed deal which is always subject to conditions and change is:

Meet maccas in quinns at 5.45ish am just to get ya bearings and in your case, stretch ya legs and chuck a piss and validate your passport since you're so far north of the river :P

Yeah plan to leave around 6ish latest, enough time to grab breakfast from mcdonalds, have a quick chat about bearings and then leave...

Quickest way to get there for you would be to go straight down gnangara rd and turn into wanneroo road and head north till you hit HESTER AVE (left) then follow it all the way and after you get to the second big roundabout, youll go straight and see the golden M's

If ya gotta pic up the fellas from somewhere closer to the coast though, take the freeway all the way north, chuck a left on hodges, then a right on marmion ave and follow it north till ya see the same roundabout, and golden M's on ya left.

Anyway, the plan would be Jurien Bay and surrounding areas, such as Leeman and Green Heads. Lotsa reefy bits up there, marinas, groynes, jetties, beachy stretches etc... if we cant find fish then its Marc's fault (jk ;) ) and yeah, plan to stay up there... maybe find a nice dune to make camp in, sink some beers with the fellas and leave a line out for mullas or something... make a nice big campfire and cook some snags, bbq fish, whatever..

So what to bring:

Food for bbq - snags, meat whatever
Warm clothing, waterproof clothing too, might be a little rainy sunday morn but we're 300kms north of perth, it might not even hit us..
Camp shit, dont bring a tent, i spose its too long to set up and shit but if you REALLY want to, then you can... im just bringing a sleeping bag and thats prolly it.. maybe a piece of big canvas just in case it decides to be a bit rainy... that ill tie low down on a shrub or over the top of me to make a makeshift swag...

WATER. dont forget water, just in case
Fishing gear.. duh this includes bait
BEER or whatever you feel like drinking, if you drink that is... just enough not to get slashed but enough to have fun and have a yarn and keep ya happy enough to yarn to the boys about...


If Jurien turns out shit, we can always discuss other locations to go when we are up there like leeman, green heads or if we're keen enough to go further north... but im sure we'll be fine... if worst comes to worse, we can always backtrack down to moore river, kill the bream and fish the beach aswell! so bring ya surf gear, and ya flick shit. just in case :)

Also, everyone, PM me ya numbers before friday that way, we can communicate if something happens..

But that should be ok.. i know myself and h0ju are going to bring gas cookers and stuff like that for a backup if the fire doesnt crank but i think we'll be fine :D

Only other thing I can think of is, I only got access to 1 esky, which i have to borrow and it aint that big so you fellas can somehow find a couple more eskies amongst yaselves, so we can ice up at the servo accross the road from the maccas and keep our bait in one esky, alcohol in another and food in the third. That way we should be set... :)

If ya think of anything else too, just post it up. More ideas the better.

Also, OTHER PEOPLE, nows the time to join if ya want... otherwise, sucked in, we're gonna land some jumbos and make it onto the front of FWA like andy! hahaha ;)

oh and yeah, this is an overnighter because the high tide hits at like 12.30am so yeah, saturday, sat night and sunday morning is prolly the go time... arrive back in perth sunday arvo.

A couple of things just quick rickets; check if you can light a fire first as i think up that way fire bans are now on. Secondly if you are wanting a sweet place to stay id go to sandy cape. Its off the beaten track a bit and you can get there by car very easily. Good camping spot with heaps of clearings and trees to set up under with the beach only 50m away. GREAT fishing spot for mullas and thumper tailor at night. Plenty of pinkies around there as well. Its just north of Jurien about 6kms i think and when you see a big rock on your left hand side of the road turn there. tracks about 5mins before beach. Some soft sand but you can get your car in there no worries. It will be busy though as many people know of this spot but not many actually fish it so check it out if your keen. just a thought. If your stuck ill find a map.

mate really sorry mut looks as though i might have to cancell on attending. when i origionally confirmed i was keen i thought it was a day trip and back that arvo. I have a 30th birthday saturday night that i can't for the life of me get out of. relly sorry mate but like i said maybe i misunderstood from the start if it was a day trip or overnighter.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in response... been flooded with work at the moment..

Looks like i will have to pass as well, as i need to catch up on work over the weekend... or my Xmas holidays wont be looking so good!!

Its a bummer was loooking forward to heading out for a night fish!! with everyone.

Im keen as to make another date, i understand its getting harder and harder to get everyone together on the same day.

My suggestion is we give as much notice to everyone as possible, so lets say make it for 3 weeks time. That way everyone can plan for that day.

And maybe not so far away too :)
