I was about to report the same thing..
It's been happening for a couple of days now. It looks like the server needs some work.

12 months
I mentioned this 12 months ago, it's terrible here, I have a FAST computer and fast internet connection but this site is so slow, I only open threads that I want to see, I don't open image files etc it just takes too long.

Just last two days
Havnt had any trouble till yesterday and today! Try to log into lastest content, and it takes 5 mins to pop up, thats at 12pm today. Other than that, the site is much quicker, since we all chipped in for the new server.

I'm no computer nerd Colin H/ Andy Mac but
son had same problem with his computer (not this site) he is computer nerd & he had bad virus/infection in his and he had to do what nerds (sorry nerds he's 6' 4") do and fix it. He said his computer run that slow he could walk faster don't know if this site might be infected ?????? Just a thought fellas
PS .. Could it be too many guest at the time of typing there are 407?

It has something to do with traffic Roberta but not virus
This is a performance issue with the machine/s that are running the site most likely. The spike in traffic could have some effect but I just thing the techos at the back end have some tuning to do. With all of the feedback I am sure they will fix it..

g'day fellas - can i ask
g'day fellas - can i ask where the server is located? is it hosted in Oz, or overseas? If it's hosted in Oz then which provider is it hosted with?
I have no idea what database backend your running for this site though this can affect the performance and load speed of a website - eg, if you have 100's of queries on different tables in you database this will slow things down... anyway - seems fine for me:)

Same here - Suspect the problem
Haven't had a chance to go in much last few days, but came in this morning and it was very slow, not so bad now though.
I suspect the problem is Ads uploading those (yet more) digustingly fantastic Exy shots and maybe we need to ban him from doing so

Still slow here too
Not quite as bad as later last week but still not good. A "ping" shows a relatively slow comparative reponse time and I recon the guys at the back end need to give the server a kick in the guts or some maintenance.

pics
Sambo checked and it turned out the fishwrecked reeltime logo pic on the frontpage was too large and was slowing it down, along with all the photo of the month pics. The other slow point is the fishwrecked shirts pics as they are quite large (200kb out of 550kb) on the frontpage load (after a fair bit had been removed)
The other reason it may be slow is I've been refreshing the cache lots as I've been removing a few past members posts at their request.
