Submitted by Faulkner Family on Fri, 2018-10-19 07:51
Im up here working in kalgoorlie and got a phone call from Sandy a bit later than normal only for her to tell me we got robbed. Some asshole got onto our boat and pinched the fuel tank and batteries just to start with. Wont know what else untill i see photos later. All happened between 5 and 5:30 thismorning. To say im pissed off is an understatement

Yep know the feeling Russ.
Previous boat I had a few years back came home from work to find some asshole had taken the bait board both batteries and the boxes and all the safety gear plus some rods and reels, my current boat I've had the flare kit knocked off don't leave nothing in the boat anymore. But the best one was I was getting organised to go for a snapper sesh a while back and realised some prick had knocked off my sarca anchor with 8 metres of chain and the 50 metres of rope it was attached to!!...Nothing is safe!!

Bad feeling.
Wonder if the judges or lawmakers whom deal with these scum actually have had that feeling of being invaded and ripped off ?
I doubt it , sorry to hear Russ , I must admit I actually bought a boat that was safe ( full sprayed in floatation ) first and then wheather it fitted in
the locked garage second, before any other considerations.
Within 2kms of my place there must be 10 decent boats all stored in driveways or carports and I just didnt want to go there.
In a perfect world we shoundnt have to consider it but thats modern life. I know locked garages and sheds get broken into all the time but every level
of hardness for the wankers is the best we can do , finished off with some decent insurance.
If I had any good marine batterys I sling them to ya Russ but only got 3 or 4, 4cy car ones atm.

Bugga.
Sorry to hear Russ.
Just wish the assholes would go out and work for their stuff instead of stealing it from folks that work hard to buy it.
Hope there is a positive outcome for ya & they find them & your gear.

Sandy has not long got home
Sandy has not long got home from work and sent me a couple of pics. they unscrewed evey nut and bolt . nothing at all cut not even the breather hose. nothing else taken other than battery and fuel tank. looks like they needed for their own boat .
no camera this time but there wil be in the future.
already got prices and its not going to be worth insurance . going to be out of pocket because of these fkn assholes. hope their boat sinks .
i have a small tank that will be ok for short trips out and a couple of jerries till my ordered tank comes in . luckily i spose the demersal ban is on

Yhi power in canning vale
Yhi power in canning vale does cheap marine batteries. Been running them in my boat and a few cars for a few years with no issues.

Feeling your anger Russ, unfortunately boats are seen as an easy target for the pricks doing it. My outboard that got nicked 2 years ago has never resurfaced, even though it was data dotted.

Batteries
Mate at work had Batteries taken this week from his front yard garaged boat, (Joondalup area) no doubt going for scrap, easy money rather than someone stealing a serviceable battery for use. Unfortunately nothing is safe on boats that are or not locked in sheds. We even had an old wood hot water system tank stolen from our holiday shack at Mandurah, the scum are very keen down there for any scrap of value. Would of been a fair bit of effort to remove.

Sorry to here that RUSS, I’m home Monday if you need anything let me know. Maybe some sort of pad under the deck so when they step on it s very loud ear piercing noise comes out of it. And they wouldn’t want to hang about, put a couple under mats on the deck?

Bugger
Lost a few vhf radios over the years. Best thing ever is those personel alarms you buy with pin in them. Blow your ear drums out. Attach line to pull out pin . Attach anywhere. Boat around house. Anyone walks into line bang pin pulls out alarm goes off. Be horrible in there panic if they happen to get stuck in trebles you left out to dry on line . Sorry to here bud. Won't ever stop the pricks.best option neighbours may have video footage ?

Sorry to hear mate, Battery wholesalers in mandurah are priced fairly.. I’ve got a battery sitting in the shed from my old trailcraft.. few years old but i’m pretty sure it’s still good. Hit me up if you want it and I can check details

Sugar doesn’t do anything, it doesn’t desolve in petrol. Saw it on Mythbusters on TV were they tried it.

Mandurah is hot spot for thieving swines
Sorry to hear that you have been done over Russ, I agree with the thought that some thieving bastard has been specific in what they took and probably wanted it for their own boat.
Last year I twice has fuel taken from my boat and with the prices of it now I have fears that pinching fuel from boats will become rife again.
I guess all we can do is pray to the karma god that bad luck strikes them when they are out on the ocean far far from land with a flat battery and no flares.
