Flat batteries

Alarm goes off at 4AM. Car packed and leave home at 4:15AM. Pick up boat from WA Boat Storage at 5AM and load up with fuel. Down at Cockburn Power Boat Club by 5:20AM. Boat load and ready to go down ramp - try to lift motor.

2 FLAT BATTERIES and no electrical devices left on inside the boat. I knew one was dying but as I was using the boat couple of times per week it keep going. Both batteries same age. Can't leave batteries on charge because boat stays in boat storage.

Now home at 6:30AM and bait back in the freezer - at least it hadn't thawed out.

Always look like a twit when leaving the ramp with boat on trailer, and steam coming out of ears,  and all the boats are arriving to go in the water.

Oh well, I guess the wife will line up some jobs around the house for me today now.

Bloody hell I can't believe the price of batteries nowadays. There isn't much on the market cheaper than $200 each.

Try Goodchilds and say you

Try Goodchilds and say you are a business (give them a XXX Pty Ltd name and pay by cash/card).

I have found them to have good prices and then you get a further discount being a business.

Batteries available

Thu, 2016-03-31 10:35

Hi guys, as a new member and sponsor of fishwrecked thought I would let you know we stock marine batteries here at our Fremantle shop. We usually only stock well known and trusted batteries (Bosch, AC Delco etc) however we can get in any brand you prefer. (We understand some boaties only prefer to stick with the ones they know and trust). It's hard to keep every size and brand however we'll do our best to accomodate the more used sizes. Starting and deep cycle.

If you have an unwanted failure on that planned trip - even out of hours, feel free to give us a call and we can open up and hopefully help out. (I'm up early) We can also fit, check and load test any batteries you are unsure of.

Happy to provide all fishwrecked members 15% discount also on all batteries.

cheers, Nigel

Nigel did a great job on a 240 / 12 volt install on my boat.

Prompt, reliable and easy to talk to.

Endurance Marine

I dropped into Nigel yesterday and the service was awesome with absolutely brilliant prices. I've bought 2 batteries from him and I'm getting some wiring and devices installed next week.
I can't fault the prices, enthusiasm or service so far. I will give everyone an update after the work gets done next week.

Not good to hear about the fishing story, but great to hear about the outcome.
