havn't had many reports at all, if any, Andrew. I reckon they will still be around canning and the likes, just have to work harder with sinking vibes and the likes.

I got 2 in freo last sunday
I got 2 in freo last sunday using vibes 48cm and 35cm, fished for 20 minutes and left cause it was too bloody sunny and hot lol.
few weeks ago I got a few in the canning under the kwinana fwy bridge but they were small, got them on cranks

Simple answer to your simple q...best part about fishing metro is, there is Sunday paper seasons.... flathead are so much fun when ya down at red herring at 5am sunrise and working ya(whatever) in the shallows.. October as the water is warming up.. fish the rising tide.. perve at the Milfs on the footpath(although most are grannies)... we're almost building up for a new season mate.. be patient its not far away.. and the sun is coming up earlier!!!
