Flattie Lures

Gday
i'm thinking about fishing the sandbar off point walter a bit more frequently and am just wondering what peoples favorite lures are as i lost nearly all of my small hardbodies off the side of the boat on a recent trip down south, so i'm keen on restocking the tackle box.
cheers

mate we been having a fair

Sun, 2010-12-05 01:24

mate we been having a fair amount of success in the last week or so with halco scorpion 35's in the flashy colours like gold/orange and pink fluoro. went out for a bit of fun around canning bridge last week and we got 3 ranging from 35cm to one that was pushing 50cm in just over an hr. my bro went out couple of nights ago and got the same result around the mill point jetty as well. laser pros work too but generally speaking we've got the best results using the scorpions :)

Time

Mon, 2010-12-06 11:50

Sunrise to nine am is my preferred time but I've caught them at all times of the day.

Medium sized Honey-pot Prawnstars are probably my favourite flattie lure in the Swan River.

hey mate when i normally go

Wed, 2011-02-02 07:55

hey mate when i normally go to the swan river at across from black wall reach at the point there on chidleys road, I mostly used a prawn star the seemed to work far above all other lures, like the river to sea baby vibes, and scorpions, i personally think your best bet is with a prawn star.

My brother even managed to pull up a 52 cm flatty on a prawnstar while i manged to get a couple smaller ones

flatties are not as fussy as bream.

I like to use vibes from maria as well as bassday kangoku. they never dispoint me.

river to sea's baby vibes are good as well. However, maria & bassday cast better against the wind and sink faster.

 The most success ive had

Sun, 2011-03-06 14:02

The most success ive had with flatties has been with small Marabou jigs. Very cheap and versatile.

As far as hard bodies go anything pink...... not sure why but it works for me!!
