flurocarbon vs monofilament

Ok im really considering the argument between these two materials....
Obviously I know the pro's and con's of both, however, when it comes to flurocarbon... do they hookup more fish because the fish do not notice the line as much?
And the bigger question, if you are using monofilament leader, could more fish be deterred by it due to seeing it?

Either way....
The fish are more interested in the bait or lure but they can be fussy on how short the leader is which would be connected to your mainline! In my opinion I rather use a long leader about 1m long. Aswell I find Flurocarbon great around Bridges and Jetties/Yacht Clubs as they seem to have less stretch then the Monofilament, with Monofilament they are great around drop offs and weed beds.
All the best in the future fishing trips.

In my experience it depends
In my experience it depends on what you are fishing for. Bottom bouncing there really isn't a need for flurocarbon IMO, and have tried it but fish catch rate hasn't changed. Though if you are fishing for something more picky say dolphinfish then I always use it.

Leader
I would not consider a 1m leader long?????
I recon it depends on species.....
Snapper, bream= fluro
Cod, jacks, trevors= mono
I think there is a big difference between monos......the knot strength, soft or hard, co-polymers etc
Flurocarbon is afflicted with the same charateristics....not all fluro is the same
Just got to try them all till you find one that you personally like....
me ...I like
Jinka 20-80lb- nice and soft....lays flat....little memory
The new Surecatch stuff isnt bad either for the price.....little stiffer than Jinka
for light work Sunline, Nitrolon and BassHard in 6, 8 &12lb
Vanish is crap IMHO....maybe its my knots?????

fluro v mono!
flurocarbon has its disadvantages n advantages
IMO i would use fluro for bream, flatties in the swan! and in the ocean only use it for timid fish...eg pinkies!
i wouldn't make pananosta (spelling) rigs out of it...not only is fluro harder to tie but if you make a few rigs it can become very expensive!
just use normal jinkai or supple black magic etc..
i would use fluro for drift baits and leader for SP's etc..
cheers

am i the only one that makes heavy rigs out of fluro? i crimp mine to save on knots .
i dont use it on all my bottom rigs but there is allways a few onboard.
i find it great on small stuff like gardies and mullet too.

Your not alone Feral
I use floro from v light up to 600lb. and yes I crimp it, copper doubles which I size myself, crimper which I also made to suit the crimps because a perfect (as possible) crimp is essential IMO.
