LAND BASED IS HIT AND MISS.
From a boat it can be awesome if you are in the right place at the right time, but there is some rod breakers out there. A GT smashed my 8wt in one foal crack.
I dont tend to false cast to much, sometimes just let the fly ride the current and then stripping, either single or double handed strip score, I havent seen a difference in hits between speed here.
Little emporors and cods, even small trout have been a ball behind the boat.
Dont do to much of it but have had a hoot when the wand comes out.
Cheers

Been trying to get up there for a while now, being a mad Fisho of course, it seems the place to be. Perth is getting a little boring so we cant wait to get up there. Mabe the 3 off us can get together. I do feel
like I would be the Novice because I tend to do it for the bend in the rod.
Dont tie my own flies (yet) but was taught by a English master in Mandurah under the bypass bridge.
Awesome chap but sadly passed away. Hi Ken up there in fishing heaven.
Brad also dabbles in fly.
Cheers
