I just had a need to get a new antennae for my 09 colorado I coudnt get a non genuine one locally so thpught I would give Holden a try "Yes" He said "we can get one in pretty quick" then he told me the price.....$200 frigging dollars for a crappy little pillar mount antennae! I told him what I thought and told him they can keep it at that price...He agreed it was bullshit!I just orderd one from ebay exactly the same $46 delivered. They must think people are stupid (I suppose some are) what pisses me off they are probably made in the same factory as the non genuine anyway.....I feel better now!

Aftermarket
Most auto parts stores should keep one, made by Aeropro, Colorado is practically a RA Rodeo still so same bits should fit that are listed for the RA
AP136 is what you want

That's why they are called
That's why they are called "Stealerships" They need to make more profit from Parts and Service,as the profit from New Car sales drops dramatically.
Why else would a Service Dept keep trying to up sell everytime you go in for a 10,000 service..."Sir- would you like a wheel rotation/alignment/wiper blades/coolant/brake fluid change/engine/coolant flush- ect ect" NO-I DONT!

Another Rip Off !
Got quoted $1318 for a viscous fan hub for a Navara from Rockingham Nissan. It's so expensive because it's got a clutch in it they said. Got the very same thing, genuine Nissan, from the States for $125 US. With postage cost me $175 AUD delivered to my door from the other side of the woorld !
I'm all for supporting local, but it's hard to justify with such a massive difference in price.

Ford
Heater doesn't work in sons xr6, local ford dealer wants 150 to have a look. If it's the heater motor it's going to cost about $1000 to replace a $40 part?
the can f###k right off, surely there are local mechanics that can do it cheaper than that. $142 an hour for labour at the dealership...

Probably a broken plastic shaft in the heater box, common issue. Have alook on some forums, probably a guide around somewhere and fix it yourself

The little elec motor that
The little elec motor that operates it has a fair bit of torque and puts stress on the shaft when you go full hot or full cold, hence breaking the end off. So once you have fixed it, just keep the dial off the full stop

As GillyL says . . . . My climate control solenoid in my landcruiser was a little creaky and couldnt make up its mind whether to stay open or shut. took it to Toyota for a quote - nearly $2.5k, the part was $300 the rest was to take the dash out and put it back in. 12 hour job to remove the tech reckoned. I said they could build 3 cars in Japan in that amount of time and politely declined to get the work done. It was still creaking when I sold it 2 years later.

sorry buddy that sux.
I ended up going to EB bought one OL then paid Nissan $75 for the privilege of spending literally 10 min programing it.
yep that's $450/ hour. absolutely no other way out !
Edit: the Nissan key has a screw in metal blank...this is the piece of metal that a "key cutter" will put in his machine. and grind down. (not the chip or button or anything electronic) literally the metal " inset this bit in the lock bit"
on ebay they are $1.80 ish posted. Nissan wanted $73.15

Any chance in PMing me the details of who you got the wipers from... The RG colorado is the same, they use a clip in style like the European cars but have created a custom clip in pattern that literally isn't available anywhere!!
I'm contemplating just replacing the entire arms the dmax ones which use the traditional type arms and blades
cheers

On a merc I successfully slid the rubber inserts out and fitted ones that I removed from the plastic backing of cheapo refils, could try that. There are neoform wipers available, should think the kits suit your vehicles too
