Footy is back - AFL rnd 1
Its time!
I am passing on the tipping comp, but will partake in the banter.
It starts with an absolute ball cracker of a game!
Richmond vs Carlton. Hard to pick a loser in this one. I will go with the tigers to win.
Pressure to grow on buckley when the bulldogs beat them.
Saints / melbourne, one of the better matches. Going to go for the saints at etihad.
Swans to thump port
Hawks to beat essendon
Suns and lions. Who cares? Suns and micky barlow to star.
Roos and west coast. Experts say if west coast win this they will firm as flag favourites. Really? Its north melbourne ffs. If west xoast dont win this, theyre pretenders, not contenders.
Crows and giants. Another potentially good game, but the afl will ensure a giants win.
And freo v geelong. I think freo will be competitive and this game closer than expected, but the team needs 6 months or so to gel. Looking for freo's game plan to develop throughout the season. Geelong will be too polished this time around.

Must have been a moment of madness
I thought they might have improved, given people were talking up their new recruits and I thought they might catch the cats on the hop at home. Dumb move that lol.

I picked them, felt sure we could win it, but will know better going forward. Got to get that fucktard Dawson and Suban out, bring in some kids who deserve it better.

Freo were a let down for
Freo were a let down for me..Thought they were taking it easy pre season haha. Cams young and looks promising first game for ages and Nat was v/g first game back for a year. Sandi hasnt played for what seems like ages and it showed. Did Bradley Hill play at all ? Got to go harder at the ball soft cocks today.
Geelong won 17 games last year and played like they will win same or more this year. A top 4 team for sure.
W/C looked good in Melbourne against a sliding N/M

Go Catters
bit biased but why would you be doing that ridiculous dabing
crap after a goal when your team is down by 43 points. Was a classic to hear 38 thousand people giving one person crap for a stupid move.

you bet thats great from Surge
That was a round that a few games I thought FTW(not a typo).
Some super surprises. Would love to know which one you missed Surge because those tips was just out of the world.
I don't think anyone on ESPN got 9.
last Yr Rd 1 I got 3, so after this weekend sort of happy with 4, AND I don't think I would have changed any tips thinking back, saints/melb maybe.

Struth we have Port next
Struth we have Port next week and the Doggies at home thereafter .. not going to throw the towel in just yet , but there’d want to be a vast improvement come mid season . I don’t overly buy into the gelling bit we got more of the ball had more inside 50’s etc . The players just butchered it and Rossy was out gunned by a better coach .

From The West. Lyon also took
From The West. Lyon also took some of the blame, saying that he didn't prepare his side to deal with some of Geelong's "mechanisms" as well as he should have.
Ro$$ Lyin couldn’t build a Duplo house from scratch let alone an AFL side. I give it 4 weeks before the rabid Freo ferals fully turn on him and start calling for his head.

Love how Simmo said Mitchell needs to still "work and improve" at his game at 34yrs of age

I thought his usual highly effective disposal was average to poor for the most part and he bombed it in long into the 50 at least twice. We brought you in to train us out of that shit Samual

It is a sad state of affairs, but ben cousins freefall has finally come to an end.
Hopefully he can take this opportunity to get off the gear.
Time for the media to step back and let his rehabilitation start.

He’ll be out in August if he keeps his nose clean ( it’s just more exy inside ) he hasn’t volunteered for drug rehab inside so far as I know . Something like 2000 violations of a VRO admittedly no violent breaches though I’m not too sure us mere mortals would’ve been allowed to get away with it that long .
Must be being bank rolled or he’s not doing too bad coin wise to have Barrister Michael Tudori as a mouthpiece , put him and bikies in a google search .
