Foxtel through Telstra
Submitted by Dale on Tue, 2014-08-26 19:56
Howdy all, we are moving back up to the big smoke, renting a new house in Wellard in one of the new areas. Chances are the owners won't allow a dish hanging off the roof, but looking at Testra, the foxtel signal must come in on the phone line. Would this be right?
Cheers
Dale

you can get a version of
you can get a version of foxtel through the internet, that telstra wont charge you downloads for.
I dont recomend foxtell at all though. Have a look at netflix and hulu plus way more content, all on demand and its about 10 bucks a month each service

Foxtel
We have our Foxtel through Telstra and is great. No dish means no loss of signal when raining. Can also record normal 2 ,7,9,10 etc through IQ
I am sick of going fishing. I want to go catching....

Have a Telstra T- box, no
Have a Telstra T- box, no problems now but had some connection problems at Teltra's end in the beginning which took about 2 months to sort (ended up being an easy fix but they took some time to identify the actual problem), One thing that peeves me is the market being able to record on your T-box but what they don't say is you can only record free to air channels and can't record the Foxtel channels which you can do with normal Foxtel setup so if the missus wants the tele I miss my program.
Edit - it comes through cable with the internet as per Iana below

Cable
What about cable. I have cable which I use for my internet, but Foxtel can also come through it.

NBN
Spoke with Telstra today and our new place can only get connected to the NBN and because of that Foxtel and NBN don't allow each other to use their gear, so I might have to ask if I can set up a Sattelite dish.
cheers
