empty jar = 3 therfore man = 7
man + jar = 10 (we kenw that, x 4 rung ladder =40
30+20+11+40= 101

Yep I read the question again. I got 40 for the alst one but didn't add the last column up. Used to make the same mistakes in exams!

plus:
the sum of the 4 soultions to the 4 equations..
solve the last equation then add the 4 answers...
