Deepdrop Species/Seasons
Submitted by Seahorse7 on Mon, 2022-05-30 16:36
Gday All,
Got into deepdropping this summer and did well on Greyband and some Nannygai but been quiet the last couple of outings. Does anyone know of any Books or resources in general that would list the deep species and best seasons/time of year and depths etc for the perth region?
Thanks.

I don't know the actual
I don't know the actual answer to your question, but I find that deep drop can be very hit and miss.
Sometime the fish are there and not biting, sometime they are just not there.
Greyband have a fairly big depth range, maybe try a bit deeper.
Last trip out, we got a pinky in 300, deepest I have seen them.
Keep trying mate, they are out there all year.

I guess it's why deep
I guess it's why deep dropping is know as the dark arts of fishing, not a lot of shared knowledge.

Books
Well if there is a book on how to and when and where that would take the challenge out of it , I reckon
It's taken me 15 odd years to figure things out in regards to tides and times plus the currents and knowing which side of an edge to fish etc . Now though I get pretty good results and it is very rewarding
Good luck
The next time i see that jig will be in the mouth of something big !!
