Furuno 295 transducer beam angles
Hi Guys,
Im hoping to get some advice/relevant info regarding upgrading my sounder from a 587 to a 295 unit and which transducers would be best for hunting deep.
I've seach all previous post with no luck, hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.
Boat: I've got a 7.5m hard top ally with twin yamaha 150 on the back.
Fishing from 20m-400m
Can anyone one inform me on a transducer that has the best beam angle to fish out deep? Atm the tm260 is under powered and has such a large coverage at 400m that I'm unsure of the fish I'm marking are even near the boat.
Im considering a 200B-8B 200khz 2kw which has a 5.5 degree beam angle for my HF. (seems to be mosy common)
But my main question is which LF tranny to use:
Either 2 or 3KW in either 28khz or 38khz frequency, I'm unsure which brand or frequency has the best beam angle and clarity for out deep, my understanding in the difference between 28khz and 38khz is that 28 can punch deeper but with less clarity than 38khz??.
Due to my boat being ally I'm going to need to mount these tranny's on the transom but may be able to wet face the 200khz to free up space for the LF tranny.... if there is one that anyone can recommend??.
If anyone has a similar setup or has mounted theses large transducer with the moulds on a twin engine boat I'd love to see how it was done pls.
Considering either a furuno or hondex transducer which ever has the best beam angle for out wide.
Any help appreciated!

Hondex
Hey Josh I run a hondex trany which is 1kw 200 and 2kw 50 , its a td 68 and this has cone angles of 12 degrees on both frequencies
I am not running a furuno but the 50khz gives good detail and fish separation out where we fish between 250 and 450 metres I have transom mounted mine but not sure how you will go with twin o/b set up
Other option is to pocket mount !!
The next time i see that jig will be in the mouth of something big !!

Hey Deep South cheers for
Hey Deep South cheers for the input, how do u find the 2kw for power out there? Would love a 3kw but it's substantially more $$$., and if the 2kw is enough for 500m I'd be happy.
whats the pocket mount?? and any chance u could send me a photo of your tranny mount?
any other input from anyone would be great
